VCC honoured the change in leadership from former Executive Director Meaghon Reid to current Executive Director Dani DeBoice through a transfer ceremony, following Blackfoot protocol.
In the Western worldview, this change is typically recognized through the signing of a contract. In the Blackfoot worldview, leadership transfer is acknowledged in ceremony. Staff, board members and funders gathered in a circle to witness a prayer and smudge from Elder Clement Leather, observed by Elder Wanda Firstrider.
